This express was built for an owner who made the upgrade from an eight metre production boat, to a thirteen metre custom made to measure build. A big change not only in size but also concept, of what is a boat made to your wishes. The 42 Express was built to the usual Ritchie Howell cold mold jig method, with structures in wood covered with fibre glass and epoxy. Interior wise the owner opted for a three berth forward cabin, custom couch in saloon, shower head, and large galley which also features an ice maker, Subzero freezer/refrigerator, and a custom granite counter top. Inside finishing is figured cherry wood cabinetry. Interesting is also the more to the standard sized mezzanine feature on the aft deck. The 42 Express is also equipped with latest Sportfish amenities like tackle rod storage throughout, Release Marine helm, Release fighting chairs, Rupp riggers, custom tower with second station controls, in-transom kill box, freshwater ice maker with ice dump for fish box, and a cockpit bait freezer. Performance is respectable to the usual custom standards with twin 775hp Cats giving a 40 knots top speed.
Technical Data:
LOA - 13.0 m (42.9ft)
Beam - 4.47 m
Draft - 1.04 m
Displacement - 16329 kg
Fuel Capacity - 2933 l
Water Capacity - 378 l
Accommodation - 3 berths in 1 cabin
Engines - 2 x Cats C12 Acert 775hp
Propulsion - line shaft
Speed - 40 knots max, 30 knots cruise
Construction - cold mold jig method
Design - Applied Concepts

The 410XF is the flagship express Sportfish Cruiser from Albemarle and was introduced in the fall of 2000. Now close to its ten years production run Albemarle decide to enrich the 410XF with superior luxury finishing inside featuring rope lightning under the drawers, galley and the owners forward berth. Albemarle thanks to the new layout was also able to offer more cabinets in the owners cabin which now features two over sized hanging lockers and four drawer banks in the master stateroom to port and starboard. This new 2010 layout has also a new position of the forward berth which now lies to the beam, a saloon dining table for four to starboard, and a shower head located upon entrance of the lower deck. The 2009 layout with bigger lounging saloon, and en-suited forward cabin will still be available. The Albemarle 410XF is powered by twin engines from 710hp up to 800hp. With standard twin 710hp engines set up a max speed of 35 knots is reached.

The integrated hardtop signifies a next step in express design evolution for the Southern California Adelante boat builder, here utilizing a rigid three sided enclosure to offer better protection from the elements, improved visibility, and greater comfort on the helm deck. Below deck, the interior also marks a turn around offering a luxurious space equal to the Cabo 45 Express it will replace. The most dramatic difference in the layout is the addition of either an optional second stateroom, or an angler's room. This extra space allows for easy interior storage of fishing gear or the privacy of a second stateroom away from the master. Another intuitive touch is the placement of a full length galley counter against the aft bulkhead, making access to appliances easier while creating more floor space in the living dining area. The master stateroom and shared head are forward of the living area and offer the comfort and amenities that discriminating owners desire. Like every Cabo the design for this boat began in the cockpit to make sure that it meets the demands of serious anglers. Fish boxes, a tackle center, and bait well in the transom are all standard, and new mezzanine seating provides a comfortable perch when watching the spread. Like many of the latest Cabos to be introduced in the past few years, the 44's foundation is a Michael Peters designed hull. From there, the propulsion design, electrical systems, and attention to detail is executed in the same manner that built the Cabo reputation for a rugged and efficient build. Cabo and Michael Peters present an innovative design with luxurious appointments. The hard top design solution for the 44 Hardtop Express project gives also a great appeal to cruising enthusiasts that may have never considered a Cabo before, while continuing to meet the demands of its core market serious offshore anglers.

The Portofino 11 was presented in 2008 with the Fly version, a year later was the turn for a Coupe model, and now in 2010 is next for the new Fisherman. Similar to its sisters in everything concerning the hull from shape to the IPS propulsion, and in the lower deck accommodation for four, the new Fisherman looks different when you see its topsides thanks to the lets go fishing Tuna tower. Apart from a second helm station the tower gives better visibility for locating the prey, outriggers, and extra places where to put your lines. The main deck now fully open on the sides and aft is also added with extras dedicated to the fisherman not found on the 11 Fly and Coupe models, like ice maker, 220 litres freezer, and a 200 litres live bait well. Thanks to Volvo IPS electronics the 11 Fisherman also features a slow speed, and electronic anchor modes. Both of these very usual instruments for the dedicated angler.
Technical Data:
LOA - 11.47 m (37.6ft)
Registration Length - 9.48 m
Beam - 3.54 m
Displacement - 9.50 t
Fuel Capacity - 750 l
Water Capacity - 350 l
Max Persons - 10
Accommodation - 4 berths
Engines - 2 x Volvo IPS350 D4 260hp, IPS400 D4 300hp
Propulsion - Volvo IPS forward looking dual propeller pod drives
Speed - 34 knots with IPS400
Hull - vee shape with 18 degrees deadrise
Project - A. This now famous Volvo propulsion system utilizes pod drives that dramatically increases efficiency compared to traditional inboard line shafts configurations. It also offers higher top speeds, faster acceleration, easy handling, reduced fuel consumption, and a better cruising range. IPS also makes for minimal vibration and sound plus virtually no exhaust fumes, thus onboard comfort takes an improvement, while at the same time retains the traditional inboard benefits, such as propellers under the hull plus extensive use of bronze and stainless steel to the gear. Albermarle also have put Volvo’s Sportfish as a standard feature, providing an unparalleled ability to chase a fish after the hook-up. While top speed figures have not been announced Albemarle announced an extra 2.5 knots versus the standard twin Cummins 540hp engines which should reach a 34 knots max, and a 121 litres per hours fuel consumption at 30 knots cruise, which means an improvement of 30%. Accommodation of the 360XF offers a four or five berth layout, version with three beds to fore, and an extra double within the convertible saloon.

Scheduled to be launched the coming Spring this Sportfish Cruiser will be the first built at the Millville, New Jersey plant. As most of Luhrs boat the 33 Open will feature hardcore fishability with details such as an in transom live well, plenty of in-deck fishbox storage, and intelligently-designed swivelling cockpit seating.
