Rio 42 Air powerboat cruiser review from RioYachts
Rio 42 Air is a large and beautiful cruiser with a hard top. It is presented on the last years Genova Boat Show.
Rio Yachts are famous for this kind of powerful motorboats (cruisers) that have many unique details and take them apart from other shipbuilders. The roof is not covering the upper deck completely and acts like a hard top cabrio, which can be transformed into a sporty coupe in seconds, on a touch of a button. The whole operation is performed by a series of servo engines and it is noiseless. And this hard top equipped cruiser has one important advantage; the owner doesn’t have to care for the bad weather as the protection is uncompromising and assuring and completely silent.
The new hard-top consists of two distinct elements and the horizontal silver structure gives a slender look to the hull by highlighting an elegant style. Rio 42 Air is built following the latest standards in safety, technology and luxury and it is aimed to the most demanding buyers. Italian style and character is present on every step and angle. Its length is 12.94m (42 feet) and the deck is big enough to accommodate all the guests and even serve as a private beach, near the anchored mother ship.
Optimum visibility is one key factor at Rio 42 Air that contributes to security and is guaranteed with the raised navigation position. You can choose to sunbathe on the bow, or use a private sunbathing location at the stern. Extremely comfortable material is used on both sunbathing places and you can get a tanned skin relaxed and worry-free with your favorite company. Shipyard’s motto focuses on function and comfort: the hard-top actually covers, once open, both the cockpit table and a part of the aft sunbathing area.
Speaking for the interior, there are two cabins with dedicated facilities, double beds and essential items and big saloon with a galley for all the owner’s needs.
With two Cummins turbo-diesel engines with 380 horsepower, it achieves speed of 36 knots, which is excellent knowing that the weight of empty boat is over 9, 5 tons. The tank accumulates 1000 liters of fuel.
